About Shannon

Initially, I wasn’t sure I wanted to have a career in the beauty industry. I found myself working for an attorney pursuing a paralegal degree and from there tried a shot at banking. After selling cosmetics for a period of time, I decided to expand my education and attend a program at the prestigious Euro Institute of Skin Care, which at that time was located in Bellevue, Washington. Finally a profession that felt right!

Now as a licensed esthetician, my first job was with Gene Juarez Salon and Spa in Seattle, WA. I learned many lessons working with the public and received much more education from their skin care program. From there I moved up professionally and increased my knowledge to the point of working part-time for Nordstrom Spa in downtown Seattle, while starting my own part-time waxing company. This included traveling to homes for waxing parties or waxing large groups of women on their lunch hour at their place of employment. My business flourished.

A turning point came when Nordstrom invited me to apply for a position working for Anastasia Soare of Beverly Hills, CA representing her in Seattle and selling her eyebrow cosmetics. I jumped at this opportunity, applied, and was accepted for the job. I flew down to LA, met Anastasia and trained with her in her exclusive eyebrow salon. After watching and learning every tidbit I could, I felt ready to bring my waxing expertise back to Seattle. Many times Anastasia would visit Seattle to do personal appearances and I would receive additional coaching. It was very exciting and I always felt privileged to work with her.

After some time, my business began to boom so well that I was invited to instruct at various skin care schools and salon/spas in Seattle. This included not only students but the school instructors as well. After meeting my husband, I moved my business to Yakima, WA and started fresh once again.

Building a business takes time but I found that my waxing experience seemed to stand out and word spread. I quickly built up a wonderful clientele in Yakima, WA. After working at two local salons, I opened a large, full-service salon of my own. Even though Salon Latour was a success, after a short time I decided to sell it, downsize and operate a more intimate waxing studio of my own.

In everything that I do as an esthetician, my focus is to provide outstanding waxing and skin care services. I intend to make available the best and latest eyebrow products, cosmetics, body and bath potions on the market. With a sense of style and esthetics, I hope to provide not only a perfectly arched eyebrow but to enhance and complement everyone’s sense of beauty.
